Know Who You Are - Living Without Doubt
Every structure
needs a foundation. The bigger, the more complex the structure, the more
important the foundation. A foundation must be strong, simple and immovable.
Life is a structure and demands a foundation. Strong, simple, immovable. The
Lubavitcher Rebbe laid the
"foundation of life" in 12 quotes from
Torah.
The first thing that a child needs to be taught in life is who they are. This, like all truths, will never change. The child will grow older, wiser, stronger, more skillful, but who he or she is, is the rock solid foundation on which his or her life is built. The first of the twelve Pesukim (verses) is Torah Tzivah. In essence we are Jews. This is our inheritance and no one can take it away. Knowing this provides an intrinsic security and comfort. Through this strength and security in who we are, we are able to accept others for who they are, the true meaning of tolerance.
Explore the differences between knowledge and faith, tolerance and indifference, permanent and transient. Grasp the true nature of doubts and insecurities and how freeing yourself from them can lead to a much happier, healthier life.
