Happiness with another person does not involve judgement. A teacher may say “
I am happy with my student” meaning “ the student is doing well.” A husband who
says “ I’m happy with my wife” does not mean, “ she is doing well,” it means, “
I’m glad she is my wife.”
In a relationship love and joy are synonymous, inseparable. Pleasure on the
other hand, is separate and distinct.
Knowing the difference can be very helpful.
